







The village became known archaeologically by the habitat of prehistoric burial-ground.
The village Vcelince lies on the territory of Gemer Region. It was established on the place of an old settlement and the fi rst record of it comes from 1332. It pertained to the Gemer Castle. Since the 14th century it pertained to the Mehy Family and other families. The visitors of the village can admire the Baroque Roman-Catholic church of St. Stephan, the King (1775). At present the village includes 808 inhabitants, the Hungarian nationality prevails. The village cadastre has the area 1,312 ha. The settlement Kerepec (Krpec) creates an integral part of the village. The Holy Trinity (Trias), found by archaeological excavation, represents a top work of Neolithic art in the Carpathian Fold.
