Surany – an entry gate into the Nitra and Žitava Valleys.
The territory has been settled since Neolithic age, which demonstrates the archaeological locality “The Slovak Troy” in Nitriansky Hrádok with the sculpture Magna Mater. The cultural life in town is provided through The Town Centre of Culture and the House of Matica slovenská. You can visite the Town Museum with a permanent exhibition of town history with its residence in a synagogue. Sport activities are hold in a sport hall, a riding club, stadium and possibilities for fi shing you can fi nd at the lakes of holiday resort Tona and Medercina.
