The town is known by the most beautiful, precious weeping spruces (Picea Breweriana).
The fi rst written mention comes from 1113 and the town is mentioned there under the name „MOROWA“. Still in the 13th century there was the Roman church situated here, which was perished and in the 15th century it was substituted by the Gothic church, which was rebuilt in 1785 to the current Baroque Classicistic St. Archangel Michael Roman-Catholic parish church. The revolutionary poet Janko Kráľ lived in the town since 1862 till his death and the park with monument is named after him. The park with the Mausoleum of the Migazzi Family is interesting as well. Zlaté Moravce was known by the factory for the manufacture of Calex fridges and freezers. An industry is well-developed here.
