OBEC VEĽKÁ LEHOTA

The Village Veľká Lehota – enclosed by The Pohronský Inovec Mountains.
The village with 1,175 inhabitants is situated 11 km north-west from Nová Bana, the area 18.61 km2 and 650 m altitude. It is located within a beautiful mountain countryside, on the undulating highland between the Hills Vojšín and Velký Inovec, below the foot of Kamenný Hill. The Žitava River starts its fl ow in the village. The oldest monument is the Roman-Catholic St. Martin Church (1809). There is the new Social and Cultural Centre, the elementary school and the kindergarten, retirement homes and the Senior Home “Dominik”, a non-profi t organisation, the Singer Choir Lehotienka, the Pipers’ Folklore Group of D. Garaj, The Sport Club Partizán. The Children Folklore Festival „Pod Inovcom“ is organized here annually.
