







A symbiosis between the Roma and Non-Roma inhabitants reigns in the village.
The village is mentioned for the fi rst time in 1289 as Bierbraunn – a beer spring. The name is derived from the local mineral spring. The St. Ursula Roman- Catholic Church dominates the village. It was built in 1313. It is known by its interior with the painted compartment ceiling supported by two twisted columns. The Evangelist Church stands here since 1833. The village is also known by maintaining the old customs and traditions – the carnival parade of masks
