MESTO TRNAVA

Trnava, the first free royal town on the territory of the contemporary Slovakia, is situated in the centre of Trnava’s Upland, 50 km distant from the Slovakian capital Bratislava and 110 km from the Austrian capital – Vienna.
The Trnava town offers unrepeatable experiences from the sightseeing of the town historical centre, that has been declared in 1987 to be a town landmark preserve. The visitors have the possibility to see the town strength – the unique fortification system, the renaissance town tower, a baroque complex of buildings of the Trnava’s University, an earlybaroque jewel – The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, a lot of sacral objects starting with gothic up to baroque age. The interesting cultural events enrich the offer: Lumen -an international festival of gospel music, Dobrofest – an international musical festival – dobro, country, folk, Trnava’s Gate – an international folk festival, The Traditional markets of Trnava accompanied with interesting show of folk handicrafts.
