







Cerová lies on foot of Little Carpathians, 15 km south from Senica town. The first municipality utilizing the wind power in the Slovakia.
In the wooded terrain, the Korlátko castle ruins dominate above the village, the roots of which ascend to 11. century. From the temporalities of the village, the Renaissancebaroque castle has been preserved, built at the beginning of 18. century. The castle is surrounded by the park with precious woody species. To the sacral memorials belong two Roman Catholic classicistic churches. The masonred building of bellhouse has been preserved from 18. century. The village has 1250 citizens. The first wind-power plant for power generation in the Slovakia was erected in August 2003 over the municipality Cerová on the Vápenková Rock. The four 78 m high posts with glass-laminated propellers of 44 m diameter and installed capacity 4x 660 kW rise on the hill.
