The settlement was founded between the Vah River and its dried arm, from which the present-day community Diakovce has developed. As to the architectonical point of view, the cloister church belongs to the most important building landmarks of Slovakia. In thfirst half of the 13th century the Pray codex was used here. The 154 sheet of the Pray codex contains the funeral sermon and intercessor’s speech.
