







Spišské Podhradie is located in the North-east part of the Hornád Valley, at the foot of Levočské Mountains. The territoryis rich in travertines and natural mineral springs. Today it is only a small-town with approximately 3,800 inhabitants. However, it has got a fantastic position. It lies in the valley between two monuments of the past. On one side, on the travertine reef the ruins of robust Spišský Castle are spreading, where annually a considerable quantity of visitors come from around the world. On the opposite, on a smaller hill, two towers of Spišská Kapitula rise, which is a centre of spiritual power of entire northSlovakia up today.
