







The first written mention comes from 1210.
The municipality is located on the west border of the Pohronska Upland in the 140 – 225 m altitude, 9 km distant from thermal swimming pool Podhajska. The Roman stone from ages of Marcus Aurelius Severus from 229 A.C. built-in the wall of R.C. church from 1712, the hill Varas – ancient Slavonian hill-fort, a new bellhouse from 2000 belong to the rarities. The national revivalists – Anton Krsak, Stefan Chovanec, Jan Zaklukal. Famous through production of beehives, preserved locality of the brick-clay, artesian well with water quality for babies. International partners: the town ŠATOV - the Czech Republic since 1977 and the town Nisko - Poland since 2007. The village achieved success in the competitions “INFOčin 2005” – the 1st place, “DEDINA ROKA 2005” – the 3rd place in the Slovakia.
