ZOO KOŠICE

The biggest ZOO area in the Middle Europe – 288 ha, 820 animals, 179 species.
The ZOO is located within a scenery of Volovské vrchy Mountains, next to the centre for winter sports and the bobsleigh track. Open daily. The only one in Slovakia, which keeps seals, penguins, chamoises, Wapiti and Himalayan tahrs. The giant avi- ary for birds of prey, or the daily feeding of seals are the attractions. The ZOO is engaged in the projects for european bisons, Przewalski´s horse and kulans (Asiatic wild ass). The ZOO includes many resting zones, the restaurant and playgrounds for children.
