OBEC NITRICA

The village Nitrica is located on the left Nitrica River fl oodplane. The village dominate the dolomite rocks of the Drienový Hill complex with cave formations Brloh nad Nitricou and Mocelník. It was founded in 1960 by joining of so far separated villages Racice and Dvorníky nad Nitricou. Both villages have a rich history. There are several chapels in the village. In Dvorníky there are three smaller once and in Racice there is a Neo-Gothic Chapel of the Divine Heart of Jesus from 1919. The most famous event is the traditional Carnival accompanied by a burying of the bass. The burning of Morena starts to be a tradition here.
