The town is located in the central south part of Záhorie Lowland, 35 km distant from Bratislava. River Moravia flows westwards, the Little Carpathians spread eastwards.
Malacky lives all the year round with cultural and sport events: the May Day Procession in Malacky, the Musical Spring of Malacky, Street fest, the Cultural Summer, Advent in Malacky. The most visited landmarks are the Pálffy family manor in the Castle Park, the renewed synagogue, the Church of Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary with the true copy of Holy Stairs of Jerusalem. The opportunities for active resting are provided by the sport hall Malina (swimming pool, skittle ground, climbing wall, fitness centre, sauna, and massages), the open-air swimming pool with toboggan, tennis courts and the public ice-rink in the Castle Park. In the town vicinity grows up the Eurovalley Golf Park.
